Hi, I'm Joyce and I'm the founder of Wild Daisy. I started my business at the age of 13 during the summer of 2012. I was that girl, the one who changed her phone case every single day to match her outfit (gag). I was obsessed with phone cases and wanted to make some custom ones for my friends and me. I spent my weekends watching Gossip Girl on Netflix while hand gluing glitter and studs to the backs of plastic phone cases bought in bulk off of eBay. More people at school heard about it and eventually saw them and wanted to buy some for themselves. I became an undercover bedazzled phone case dealer in my middle school. Soon, I created a small Etsy shop to sell online and not just locally, then moved to my first very own website months later. Several years of bootstrapping and a session of in-school-suspension (apparently you're not allowed to sell products on school grounds) later, I came up with the idea of a clothing line. My family and I moved to San Diego, California the summer before my freshman year of high school. I immediately got my own office and warehouse to store the brand new clothing line, along with shoes, swim, jewelry, and of course, phone cases. I wasn't thinking about a career or college or anything, that summer changed my life because it was then that I found something I loved doing. It was meant to be more than just a side hobby. I wanted Wild Daisy to be big.
Today, Wild Daisy is known as an independent clothing company that I now run in its very own office and warehouse. We design clothes for people like you. I always get asked where I get my inspiration from and I just answer with "LIFE." That's what Wild Daisy is - my life in designs. If there's anything I've learned, it's that you can't quit just because you or someone else thinks you can't do it. You'll never know if you don't try. Like, let's be real… If you would have told me two or three years ago that my own clothing brand would be sold to people across the entire globe and worn by famous celebrities, or that I would have hundreds of thousands of people following me online, I would have thought you were crazy. It sounds cliché, but I mean, how could I have known any of this was gonna happen? It just proves that anything is possible.
